Algoma, WI – Mike Swille from Green Bay, WI and Stacy Deprey-Purper, an Algoma, WI native, have teamed up to launch One Health WI, a unique offering which aims to help people from all socio-economic backgrounds lead healthier lives with an affordable, synthetic drug-alternative, CBD-A (Cannabinoid Oil).

In a 2016 study conducted by the FDA, only 2 in 24 companies contained what the labels on the CBD products stated. “This is a nation-wide educational epidemic for both doctors and consumers, alike. Since CBD is becoming mainstream and thanks to the 2014 Farm Bill, Hemp-derived CBD is legal in all 50 states. The confusing part for many is that folks have a difficult time understanding CBD derived from Hemp and CBD that comes from Marijuana. Only Hemp CBD is legal in all 50 states.”

This confusion is part of One Health WI’s mission according to Deprey-Purper. “We have a desire to help our fellow Wisconsinites understand how to choose a legal and quality CBD oil. This starts with education and awareness. We’re hosting free classes which provide good information to help people navigate the waters.”

art of that education is helping people understand what a quality oil looks like and to ask specific questions about how the oil was processed and produced to ensure you’re not wasting your money or ingesting any chemicals. The new store location will host local classes to address the misinformation.

One Health WI sources oils in the top 5% for quality. Deprey-Purper stated the company aims to make quality drug alternatives available for any budget. “It is our hope that people using opioids or over-the-counter medications for pain, inflammation, anxiety or other ailments will look to an alternative like CBD before any side effects or long-term damage is done using synthetic medications.” According to the CDC doctor-prescribed medications like oxycodone, hydrocodone, fentanyl and codeine were responsible for more than 70,237 deaths in 2017, which was up by nearly 10% in previous years.

“We’re especially seeing a significant rise in CBD use in consumers over the age of 65. They’re recognizing less side effects than their opioid prescriptions such as balance issues, constipation, energy levels and more, Deprey-Purper stated.

One Health currently bottles and produces products locally such as oils, balms and facial and bath items with pharmaceutical grade CBD. The company is testing local Kewaunee and Door County Area soils with the goal to move the entire farming production, locally. “We need to ensure that the Wisconsin soil is going to be able to produce the same quality and nutrient-rich CBD we’re currently sourcing from our current farms” Swille stated.

One Health WI launched in early fall of 2018 as a wholesale, quality CBD company with resellers in Florida, Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin.

The grand opening celebration and Ribbon Cutting with the Algoma Chamber of Commerce will take place May 17, 2019 from 12-1 pm. The shop is slated for a May 8th opening at 219 Steele Street, Algoma, WI.
